As Bing likes to sing, “it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…” Â Well, maybe not a lot… at least in our house. With Thanksgiving falling a week later than usual, I am a little thrown off that it is already December! The Friday after Thanksgiving, we always put up our Christmas tree and this year was no exception, especially because we were having our Christmas card pictures taken a few days later.
Browsing through Pinterest one day (who am I kidding, does anyone just browse? more like spending way too much time on Pinterest), I saw some fun projects that would be perfect for Christmas pictures. Since my friend Kelly does our photos, I thought I would make her some fun props to use for her holiday photo shoots.
This burlap bunting was so much fun to make and turned out super cute! I am planning on making another one to hang up in our house. It is a fairly inexpensive project and gave me another reason to use my Silhouette. I cut out triangles from the burlap & spray painted them white. I then used my Silhouette to cut out stencils for the letters. I used red spray paint to make the letters. Then I trimmed the triangles to a smaller size and hot glued them to twine. Because the paint takes awhile to dry, since the burlap soaked it up, it was not a quick project…but the end result is totally worth the wait!
At this point in our family Christmas pictures, Quinn had lost his socks and pants…I’m afraid of what’s to come during the toddler years, as he already hates wearing clothes!
