The temperatures are finally warming up which can only mean one thing. Spring is here! It also means it’s time to wash away winter with some spring cleaning.
I have such a love/hate relationship with spring cleaning. I love getting the house spic and span, deep cleaning, and getting rid of winter clutter…but I also hate cleaning (just ask my mom or husband) especially when the weather is warm and I would rather be outside.
So I have a few time-saving tips to help get the house clean in no time!
Open the windows.
There’s just something about the fresh air and hearing the birds chirp that gets me more motivated to clean. And it helps air out the house after being closed up all winter.
Declutter and donate.
This is the perfect time to go through winter clothes and get rid of anything that doesn’t fit, wasn’t worn, or isn’t needed.
Spring Cleaning Checklist
I’m one of those cleaners that starts in one room and ends up in another before the other is cleaned. Or I start looking at photo albums or a magazine and never finish cleaning! It’s such a vicious cycle and I’ve done that for as long as I can remember. So I find using a checklist helps me stay focused and finish cleaning a room before moving onto the next.
So I designed a fun spring cleaning checklist for all of you! Just click on the picture below and save it to your computer or print it right away.
Deep clean the carpets.
After a long winter of snow, slush, and salt being brought into the house, it’s time to get those carpets looking new again. Vacuuming alone won’t be enough, so that’s where deep cleaning comes in. And I’m an avid user of BISSELL products – I seriously can’t say enough good things about them. We used this Febreze one on our carpets last week and I love how fresh it made our house smell and how much cleaner our carpets look!
