With a sugar cookie crust and cream cheese frosting, these caramel apple cookies are a scrumptious fall treat plus they are super simple to make!
I love the variety of apples I can find at the grocery store now that apple picking season is in full swing. My absolute favorite eating apples are Pink Lady. But I also love using apples for cooking and baking. Apple dessert recipes are something I love to make in the fall…especially for a sweet treat on a cool, fall night.
So I decided to make some caramel apple cookies, a bit of a cookie twist to a classic fall apple pie recipe. Not to mention, so easy to make…plus they have the perfect fall look to display on a dessert tray.
How to Make Caramel Apple Cookies
Kitchen Supplies
mixing bowls
sharp knife
hand mixer
baking sheets
cookie cooling rack
wax paper
Ingredients
1 medium sized green apple and red apple
sugar cookie dough
caramel sauce
chopped pecans
cream cheese frosting
Directions
Start by baking your sugar cookies. I use premade cookie dough to make these as quick as possible, but you can also make your own favorite sugar cookie recipe.
While the cookies are baking, chop your green and red apples into small pieces. Prepare the cream cheese frosting and after the cookies have cooled, frost generously.
Sprinkle on apples & pecans. Using a spatula, press them lightly into the frosting. Place the cookies on wax paper and drizzle with caramel sauce.
Cover or place in an airtight container and keep them refrigerated until served.
With very little prep, especially if you used premade cookie dough & frosting, these caramel apple cookies are a delicious fall treat!
